Anarchists

There are a wide range of people that call themselves anarchists.
Minimally, an anarchist is anti-state and anti-capital, and they approach the problem of destroying those without political mediation or interest in reformism, but nowadays any decent anarchist is at least that, and also explicitly against hierarchical or coercive power structures.

What we do, what to expect

The CT Anarchist Study Group is interested in being the base for engaging with whatever radical theory we find useful and for building a praxis appropriate to our context.

All are welcome at the meetings – in some case we will even go out of our way to help you attend – however; heteropatriarchal, racist, ableist, classist, ageist and otherwise assholish behaviour will not be tolerated.

Meetings start with a check-in from each person attending – if there are new attendees there are introductions all-round, including people stating their preferred pronouns. From there we address any lingering admin from the previous meeting and then someone does a brief presentation on the assigned text to get the conversation going. There’s a bunch in the middle. We close up after making sure each task we want to fulfil has someone taking responsibility for getting it done.
